Featuring Dr. George Francois
About the Artist

Dr. George Francois gave his first public performance at the age of 7 years at the British Council Hall in Accra. He went on to obtain music degrees from the University of Ghana, Legon, the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, U.K., the University of Texas at Austin, and Stony Brook University. He is an alumnus of The Juilliard School in New York City. He has been on various faculties in the United States, including at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and is currently an Associate Professor in the HSS Department of Ashesi University, as well as the Interim Executive Director of the New Horizon Special School.
As a performer, George Francois has given solo and collaborative recitals in Ghana, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Caribbean, as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist. He has collaborated with some amazing artists including Rita Dove (Poet Laureate & Soprano), Terry McMillan (Best Selling Author and Narrator), Bobby McFerrin (Singer and Educator), Rachel Barton Pine (Violinist), Tamara Tunie (Actress and Singer), Luther Francois (Jazz Saxophonist), Dr. Sally Singer (Cellist), and Angela Watson (Soprano).
